BURKE SPENCER

As the inventor of the Sport Trainer, The Gold Medal Speed Bands, and the Bruce Jenner hosted infomercial product “Burke Spencer’s Miracle Body Shaper”, Burke Spencer is considered one of America’s foremost speed, agility, quickness and conditioning coaches. His athletes have won numerous Olympic Gold Medals, Soccer World Cup’s, NBA Championships, MLB World Series’, National Basketball Championships, and too many other collegiate and amateur championships to mention. He 's been responsible for St Patrick’s Men’s Basketball, St. Anthony’s Men’s Basketball, Linden HS Men’s Basketball, Roselle Catholic Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Immaculata Lacrosse, Watchung Hills HS Lacrosse and Bridgewater HS Lacrosse! He has trained at the Division 1 Level with St John’s University, Iona College, NJIT & Fairleigh Dickinson University. He trained the US Navy’s Seals, US Army Rangers and the US National Guard. For his work with the Army’s Rangers he was awarded the John O. Marsh Physical Training Award from the Army’s Physical Fitness School at Fort Benning, Georgia. He holds numerous training certifications from varied organizations. He was featured in the best seller “The Miracle of St. Anthony’s” and the “Idiots Guide to Working out At Home”! He has appeared on all the National Networks, HSN, QVC, E Entertainment and most cable channels throughout the US. His revolutionary team conditioning programs blend aspects of speed, agility, strength, quickness, and conditioning into a one hour high intensity workout that develops a more effective, efficient and skilled athlete with improved recovery systems. His strength training programs work an athlete based upon the needs of the particular sport he/she plays. His “ Gold Medal Speed Bands” is a revolutionary training system developed by he and Derrick Adkins. Derrick won the Gold Medal at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics in the 400 Intermediate Hurdles!

 

While based in Australia in 1989-90 he started the first professional baseball training school in that country called “Baseball Camps Australia” and utilized the talents of future Australian major league stars such as Graeme Lloyd, David Nielson and Carlos Reyes. As the conditioning coach/consultant to Coach Mike Jarvis at St. John’s University he was instrumental in wins over Duke University, Texas Tech, and UCLA. In the National Invitational Tournament Championship Game against Georgetown, led by future NY knick #1 draft choice Michael Sweetney, St. John’s overwhelmed Georgetown in the last 5 minutes to win the title. Under Strength Coach David Oliver, Burke’s Sport Trainer was utilized to help the Women’s National Soccer Team led by Mia Hamm win the 1999-2000 Women’s World Cup. Burke was honored by sitting next to the great Pelé at the MVP dinner during the World Cup. The list of athlete’s that have utilized Burke’s talents would fill a book. To name a few would be Amare Stoudamire, Steve Nash, Bobby Hurley, Earl Clark, Roderick Rhodes, JR Smith, Derrick Caracter,Samuel Dalembert, Tiffany Milbrett, Barry Larkin, Rafael Palmiero, Sean Alexander, Mike Nardi, John Oates, Mia Hamm, and many others, too numerous to mention.
